This unique property was built in 2008 on the site of an old finca. The original farm had a large area of terraced land on this side of the steps. Today the plot belonging to the new house is still one of the largest on the hill, with a wonderfully generous swimming pool and garden, as well as ample parking. The property also has a foot-gate offering private access directly onto the Calvario Steps, so it is only a very short walk into town and all it has to offer. The house is divided into two sections connected by a covered dining area. The main house was built using reclaimed materials - stone from a former Palacio in Palma, as well as top quality wood and tiles throughout. Upstairs there is the large main bedroom suite - a generous bedroom, with wraparound terrace, uninterrupted views across the town to the Puig de Maria and the sea beyond. It has a lovely en-suite-shower room and ample storage. The second bedroom is also generous in size with an en-suite shower room and terrace with the same views. Downstairs there is an inviting living room, featuring a cosy fireplace and doors that open all along the front to the downstairs terraces, which are shaded and overlook the town, the Puig and the lovely gardens below. The kitchen also opens to the terraces as well as the covered dining area that links the two ends of the house. This area is perfect for outdoor entertaining and is filled with character, including the original stone bread oven. There is an outdoor toilet and shower room here, with a separate laundry room at the far end. The second half of the property also has a spacious sitting room with a large fireplace with log burner, two large bedrooms, both large enough for super king beds and en-suite shower rooms, plus storage. This part of the house is older, but was fully reformed in 2008. The outdoor spaces at the house are a true delight. The large swimming pool is surrounded by sun terraces, ideal for soaking up the Mediterranean sun, and there are various shaded areas around the house for relaxing. The first-floor terraces provide panoramic views across the rooftops to the sea; watching the sunrise from this property is an utter joy. This stunning property offers an incredibly unique opportunity to invest in one of the best plots on the Calvario and to own a piece of the town’s history. The large garden and swimming pool, combined with the beautiful traditional style of the house, really allow for country living in town, the best of both worlds.

Pollensa: Location and surroundings of this property

The beautiful old town of Pollensa has a population of more than 16,000 and is part of the Municipality of Pollensa, that also includes Puerto Pollensa and Cala San Vicente. The town is 6 km from the coast and 58 from the airport and the capital Palma de Mallorca. The old town is characterised by narrow streets and the old market square. The town has a medley of cafes, bars, eateries and small hotels. Pollensa offers a special insight into the Mediterranean lifestyle that has evolved over the centuries, it is a town with history that values its traditions and customs. In the early 1920s, Pollensa became a popular destination for famous painters, writers and musicians who visited the island. Today Pollensa continues to be important to the cultural and art worlds promoting and hosting concerts and exhibitions of relevance, such as the International Music Festival held during the summer months. The event calendar is busy in Pollensa the most notable occasions being the festivals of Sant Antoni in January the Easter celebrations and the week-long festivities of the patron saint ‘La Patrona Mare de Déu dels Àngels’ from the 26th July to and including the 2nd of August. Also well worth visiting is the wine fair in April and the Sunday markets held every week. Points of interest include the convent on the Puig de Maria, where there are fantastic 360º views and a great cafe, and if you book you can even sleep there for a small sum. There is a Roman Bridge, which probably is not Roman and the 365 steps of the Calvario, here too there is a great little cafe at the top to recover from the climb and relish the huge views to both the bays of Pollensa and Alcudia.
