The village is set at the foot of the Sierra de Alfábia surrounded by the Sierra de Tramuntana mountain range. It has approx. 6,000 inhabitants and an extensive surface, standing as one of the 6th largest municipalities on the island. Bunyola also includes the villages of Palmanyola and Orient, and the impressive country estates known as Alfábia and Raixa.
