El Arenal, a former fishing village that has become a popular tourist area, is located to the east of the bay of Palma. Its splendid beach is more than 4 km long and its promenade stretches all the way to the capital. It has a wide range of bars, cafés, restaurants, small shops and discotheques. The main activity in the area is related to tourism and leisure activities. You can enjoy the endless sandy beach, the pedestrian promenade in front of the sea where the popular balnearios are located, as well as a wide variety of water sports such as windsurfing and water skiing. The Club Náutico del Arenal is one of the most famous on the island; the annual Regata S.A.R. Princesa Sofía is held here in March.
