The town is 6 km from the coast and 58 from the airport and the capital Palma de Mallorca. The old town is characterised by narrow streets and the old market square. The town has a medley of cafes, bars, eateries and small hotels. Pollensa offers a special insight into the Mediterranean lifestyle that has evolved over the centuries, it is a town with history that values its traditions and customs. In the early 1920s, Pollensa became a popular destination for famous painters, writers and musicians who visited the island.
